Doris Drew was one of the most distinctive vocal talents to emerge from the American club, radio, and television circuit of the late 1940s and 1950s. From early successes with big bands and network broadcasts to her acclaimed recordings for MGM, Mercury, Kahill, Mode, and Tops Records, she developed a style marked by warmth, subtle swing, and expressive clarity. Working with such notable figures as David Carroll, Marty Paich, Jack Fascinato, Dave Pell, and pianist John T. Williams, Doris balanced a demanding professional career with a rich private life, stepping away from the spotlight at her peak. This collection brings together some of her finest recordings, capturing the artistry of a singer whose voice deserves renewed attention and appreciation.
