Recorded in Barcelona and in Les Sables d'Olonne (France), this album shows a well-engaged quartet that sounds without stridency or useless artifice, a quartet where the violinist is accompanied by clarinetist Fredrik Carlquist, bassist Stuart Grant and the guitarist Maxime Bousquet, in whom Marta Sierra can say that he has his own "Django", because he has the swing, that mischievous ease and the color needed to build those manouche accompaniments and exciting solos.
When it came to highlighting a song, we doubted between the delicious waltz manouche with which the album opens ("Indifférence") or this "Exactly Like You", written by Jimmy McHugh and which, with lyrics by Dorothy Fields, they sang, among others, Nina Simone and Diana Krall. Here, in the instrumental version by Marta Sierra, it has a delicious, addictive swing that grows with the solos of Carlquist, Bousquet and Sierra's final climax. A violinist and a record recommended for all ears.
