Horacio Fumero

Born in 1949, Argentinian double bass player Horacio Fumero, studied in Buenos Aires at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory and the Conservatoire Supérier de Musique in Geneva. In 1973 he arrived in Europe at the Montreux Jazz Festival with Gato Barbieri.

Based in Geneva in the early years he collaborated, among others, with the Lausanne String Orchestra. Since 1980 he is settled in Barcelona and the following year he became part of the Tete Montoliu Trio, with whom he worked until the death of the leader in 1997.

As a freelancer he has played with world-class musicians such as Freddie Hubbard, Johnny Griffin, Philip Catherine, Woody ShawBobby Hutcherson or Danilo Perez, among many others.
