This CD was recorded by Rosemary Clooney for RCA in 1960. This was one of her best sets of the era, for she is heard joined by a big band arranged by Nelson Riddle. The group has some interesting parts to play behind Clooney, including plenty of countermelodies, and there is some solo space for trumpeter Pete Condoli and Buddy Collette's reeds. The focus, however, is mostly on Clooney, who is heard throughout in prime voice, uplifting a dozen standards including "Get Me to the Church on Time," "Angry," "You Took Advantage of Me," "Cabin in the Sky," and even "Shine on Harvest Moon." The overall results are swinging and delightful, a jazz-oriented date of superior middle-of-the-road pop music. Scott Yanow
