Agustin is a drummer, bandleader and educator from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began playing drums at the age of 15 and has since fallen in love with music many times over. In 2013 he decided to leave Buenos Aires and come to NYC to pursue his dream of learning and sharing the stage with the living heroes of the music known as jazz (Black American Music).
Once in the US, he spent his first years “cutting his teeth” in the New York City jazz scene. This was an intense and foundational experience that allowed him to refine his skills, build a reputation, and learn from masters in the world's most competitive jazz environment.
Agustin began to discover his musical counterparts during this period—artists with whom he shares a natural connection, musicians who understand and feel the music in a similar way. The core trio behind this album—guitarist Hans Luchs , bassist Felipe Arce, and Agustin on drums—stands as a genuine reflection of that bond.
Over the past three years, this group has performed regularly across the NYC jazz scene, as well as in Canada and Mexico. Through countless gigs and tours, they’ve developed a shared musical language and a deep sense of trust on stage.
BROOKLYN MIXTAPE emerges as a natural development of that journey—a musical mosaic of styles and songs, shaped through the lens of their distinct yet deeply connected personalities. To round out the ensemble, the trio invited trumpeter Sergio Wagner and saxophonist Ochion Jewel to contribute to selected tracks, adding rich textures that further enhance the album’s arrangements and compositions.
