Pony Poindexter spent 17 years in Europe, playing in many countries (in Paris; and Mannheim/Germany in 1977), mostly in Spain (for eight years). In 1965 and 67 Pony performed at the Jamboree Jazz Club in Barcelona where he decided to stay and recorded this acid jazz masterpiece with some of the best Catalonian jazzmen and Cuban percussionist Pedrito Díaz.
This album was originally released only in Spain in LP and cassette formats.
"Saxophonist Pony Poindexter's time in Barcelona was undoubtedly the period of his greatest creativity. Barcelona, a jazz city par excellence, welcomed him with affection and admiration. The story of this album is the story of a group of men who were determined to ensure that Pony would leave behind a record made in Barcelona for posterity."
