Cédric Caillaud and Gilles Réa are not at their trial cost. Their very successful 2020 tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim, 'With Respect To A.C. Jobim' (Fresh Sound Records FSRCD 5107), could have remained a unique meeting of great quality. It is not the case. Their desire for music is bursting with enthusiasm and creativity. Here, everything is serenity, love ofmelody,mutual listening and poetry.

This is a tribute to their peers. For this, our two artists have selected six compositions by guitarists and six compositions by bass players to reveal unpracticed but oh so inspiring playgrounds. Their interpretations, far from evoking repetitions, are real bursts of freshness. And if their elders bassist and guitarists have succeeded in this kind of perilous and rare encounters, we must note that this one is to be put by their side, in other words, at the level of the greatest: Jim Hall & Ron Carter, Joe Pass & NHOP, Charlie Haden & Pat Metheny, Marc Fosset & Patrice Caratini. This duet album 'Play Guitar & Bass Bosses' is to be kept preciously in his discotheque and enjoyed with his best friends like sharing a great vintage.
