Sébastien Joulie started playing guitar at the age of 12, first fascinated by rock and blues. His curiosity and encounters in Vichy - the city where he grew up- made he fell in love with jazz. After studying English he moved to Lyon where he began studying music. Then he entered the Chambéry Conservatory where he studied alongside the trumpeter arranger Pierre Drevet and the pianist Guillaume de Chassy.
He obtained his DEM Jazz in June 2001 and recorded his first album “REG” with the band Talkin 'About of which he was one of the founding members. He then began to perform in various groups with renowned musicians such as François Chassagnite, Pierre Drevet, Éric Prost. He participated with the group Talkin 'About in 2002 at the jazz Springboard of Paris la Défense.
