Formed in 2020 for the Jazz à L'Étage festival (Ille-et-Vilaine), this duo initially centered its work on the music of Thelonious Monk before rapidly expanding its repertoire to include original compositions, thereby establishing a distinctive sonic identity.

Both accomplished bandleaders, composers, and musicians on the French scene, Ludovic Ernault and Simon Martineau place interaction at the heart of their approach; their music is built on listening, connection, and constant dialogue. Through a monthly residency at the 38 Riv Jazz Club in Paris, the duo engages in an ongoing exploration of sound and arrangement, performing a repertoire that consists primarily of jazz standards reimagined for this specific lineup alongside their own original works.
