Rolf Blomquist

Born in Stockholm, Sweden (December 7, 1925), Rolf Charles Blomquist (also know as Roffe), was a composer, arranger and tenor saxophonist. The younger brother of multi-instrumentalist Curt Blomqvist. He began his career in the popular group Vårat Gäng. Blomquist played with Arne Domnérus celebrated 1951 “Dreamband” at Nalen, with Rolf Ericson (trumpet), Lars Gullin (baritone sax), and the rhythm section with Charlie Norman or Gunnar Svensson (piano), Yngve Åkerberg / Gunnar Almstedt (double bass) and Andrew Burman / Jack Nóren (drums).

Later, also in the early 1950s he formed the Rolf Blomquist Quintet with fellow trumpeter Rolf Ericson.
