Reference: OCM CD 045

This CD grouped together two not very well-known but interesting Jam Sessions. The former, Jam Session #5, organized and recorded by Norman Granz under Clef label in September 1953, has got Johnny Hodges, Illinois Jacquet, Roy Eldridge, Flip Phillips, Lionel Hampton and Oscar Peterson, amongst others. The latter, Jazz Studio One, recorded by Decca in Autumn 1953 too, has got people such as Joe Newman, Paul Quinichette, Bennie Green, Frank Foster and Hank Jones... Great instrumentalists having fun !
