Eugenio and I met several years ago while I was playing in Italy with the legendary Buster Williams. His maturity and sensitivity impressed me immediately. And then, I heard some of his compositions, and I fell in love with his work. This latest work is consistently pleasant, and musical throughout. The music scene is experiencing a bit of a struggle these days, so it is nice to be able to hear an artist who is genuinely talented, creative, and thoughtful in his approach. His music is a reflection of his personality as well, and I believe this will carry him a long way. In these difficult times, it is good to know there is people like Eugenio in this world.
