This release contains the complete 1955 Quebec jam session, recorded by Brownie himself during a trip to Canada. All tracks previously unissued.
In addition to the legendary trumpeter, the concert also featured trombonist Rob McConnell, who was only 20-years old at the time, and would later become the leader of the Boss Brass formation.
As a bonus, three also previously unissued live sessions by Brownie in more familiar surroundings, with Max Roach : two radio broadcasts : one from The Bee Hive (1955), one from the Stroryville Club, Boston, and one from a TV broadcast in LA in 1956.
