This CD is an excellent example of modern jazz in the post-bop period which marked the '60s. Lateef is ably supported by his sidemen, but there is no doubt that he himself is the outstanding voice in the session.

Press reviews

"Lost in Sound is an enjoyable early '60s session from Yusef Lateef that captures the multi-instrumentalist as he was beginning to break free from hard-bop and explore more adventurous avenues. It's not nearly as focused or strong as the major-label sessions he led during the early '80s, but dedicated collectors will find much to treasure and explore here."
