A splendid, previously unissued performance by tenor legend Sonny Rollins, recorded in Tokyo on his 1963 tour of Japan - with a quintet featuring Paul Bley and on two tracks, Betty Carter.
As a bonus, a rare 1956 broadcast by Rollins with the first incarnation of the Max Roach quintet after Clifford Brown’s tragic death.
