The JUBILEE JAZZ ORCHESTRA was born with the idea of cultivating a type of "swinging" jazz that fits right into the "mainstream" sound of jazz - a term made up by learned reviewer Stanley Dance in order to define such an accessible sound of jazz that moves within the traditional period of "swing" that proceeded from the most famous North American big-bands.

Our own orchestra, without actually being a big-band, could be considered a 'large orchestra'. The eleven members that make up the formation: two trumpets, two trombones, three tenor saxes, piano, guitar, double-bass and drums, bring with them a sound, a personal harmony and colourful melody that are always fresh and we hope that they please the jazz aficionados, who know how to appreciate the quality of the soloist and the originality of the arrangements, as well as those listeners who enjoy earnest and direct music that, if so desired, makes you want to dance!
