Review:
"This little known group were the offshoot of José Garcia's activity as a professor of music at his own conservatoire where he was already teaching violin, piano and bandoneón at the age of 15. It's always a pleasure to discover a new tango group with a distinctive voice and José Garcia's "Grey Foxes" happily fall into this category. The group left behind only 40 recordings and El Bandoneón are to be applauded for recovering their works.

What emerges is a group again in the middle ground between D'Arienzo and Di Sarli, with a lyricism underscored with a firm rhythmic foundation. José Garcia's arranging is excellent and in the case of the piano quite outstanding, most notably in Solo Compasión with a compelling descending bass figure in the left hand. Alfredo Rojas acquits himself admitably in the vocal department.

The fidelity of the transfers is excellent. A superb disc."
