Live In Paris 1972 (2 Cd Set)
Bill Evans Trio
Featuring: Bill Evans (p), Eddie Gomez (b), Marty Morell or Tony Oxley (d)
REFERENCE: 69230_2 BAR CODE: -

This edition contains Bill Evans’ complete February 6, 1972 concert at Paris’ prestigious Maison de la Radio. The abundance of engaging ideas and sensitive playing, and the excellent sound quality of the performance make this as essential recording for Bill Evans enthusiasts. It is also intriguing to hear the pianist so involved in playing on the sound of the instrument.
In addition to the complete February 6, 1972 Maison de la Radio concert, this edition also contains a fifteen-minute version of Nardis from the June 1972 Ljubljana Festival in Yugoslavia recorded in trio format with Marty Morell and the exciting British drummer Tony Oxley. This is the only track that survived from Evans’ Ljubljana performance.

“The piano was exceptional, excellent acoustics, all the conditions were combined to satisfy my ear; that’s how I let myself go and played on the sound more than I’m used to.”
