Reviews:

"This is one of the top release of 1996 and it is a real mystery why it is not platinum. The talent, the licks and the tunes are all here. The production is right on target and Kirchen's vocals are strong and meaningful. What makes this all the more sweet is that Kirchen is one of country music's heroes from the dreadful Seventies. He is one reason why so many could endure the over production of Nashville and rock's ridiculous disco fever that never seemed to break. As a member of Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen, Kirchnen and his bright and lively guitar brought tradition back in style. As adept at the rockers, "Don't Be True," as he is with Western Swing tunes like his rendition of de Lone and Johnson's "Swingin' Teardrops." Cooler still, is the inclusion of a few trucker songs. "Womb to the Womb," "I Heard the Highway" and the always popular, "Nitro Express" are joyful and fun. Blues, a touch of surf, some hoochie coochie music and the very hip stylistic title cut, "Have Love, Will Travel" all demonstrate what a huge talent Bill Kirchen continues to be. With plenty of steel by Buddy Charleton and a crack core band made up of bassman Johnny Castle and percussionist Jack O'Dell, this is one hot disc that covers plenty of country and roots territory with a whole lot of class. Ending with a sweet, almost southern gospel honeysuckle scented refrain that is presented in pure simplicity, "I Don't Like to Work," makes this release a solid gem of brilliant dimensions. Like good whiskey or true love, Kirchen just gets better with time. And if you have your choice of just one of these, pick Kirchner's CD, it's a sure thing."
