How do I use the shopping cart?

To buy CDs from the Blues Sounds web site, simply click the BUY button next to the title you want. You can choose as many different titles as you wish, as the shopping basket will store the information until you are ready to proceed to the checkout.

To check the progress of the order and amount of CDs you have chosen, simply look to the information which appears at the bottom of the page on those screens where you can buy items. Alternatively, clicking Shop from the menu at the top of the page takes you to a detailed view of your shopping basket.

Once you are ready to go on to the payment stage of the process, simply click on the view shopping basket icon and you will be taken to the shop log-in page.

How does the process work?

Before being able to purchase anything, you will need to create yourself a shop account. This account is used by us to keep track of your details and is a handy way for you to retrieve your details when making return visits to the site. Your username should be your email address as this means we are able to send you your password, should you forget it, and more importantly, your order confirmation when you place one.

We do not use your details for any other purpose than keeping track of your order(s). We have a separate mailing list for news from Blues Sounds and it's labels, including Fresh Sound and Blue Moon. These details are kept by us and are not passed on to any third parties.

At no time are any details of bank accounts or credit cards stored by us at Blues Sounds in our database. These are held by the authority which processes the payment, which in the case of paying by credit card is 4B.

What are the browser requirements?

In order for the web site and the shop to work correctly, we recommend that you use a Mozilla 5.x compatible web browser. The minimum browser versions we recommend are Mozilla Firefox 1.x, Internet Explorer 6.0 (Windows), Safari 1.0 (Mac) and Netscape 7.x. Please note if you experience problems using this site, we recommend that you first upgrade your web browser to the latest version before contacting us. It is essential that your Javascript support is working and Cookies* are enabled.

* Some Web sites store information in a small text file, called a "cookie" on your hard disk. Cookies contain information about you and your preferences. Only the information that you provide, or the choices you make while visiting a Web site, can be stored in a cookie. For example, the site cannot determine your e-mail name unless you choose to type it. Allowing a Web site to create a cookie does not give that or any other site access to the rest of your computer, and only the site that created the cookie can read it.

I was not issued with a credit card confirmation number, what's happened?

If you were not issued a credit card confirmation number, one of the following things has occurred:

  • The service we use to connect to your credit card company is temporarily out of service.
  • Your credit card company's computer system is temporarily out of service, or there may be a problem with the credit card you provided. Please do not send us your credit card information via e-mail.

I did not receive an order confirmation via e-mail.

If you did not receive an order confirmation via e-mail, it is likely that the e-mail address provided was not properly entered, please check.

What happens if the items are out of stock?

If we don't have all of the items in stock, we will notify you. We are, however, constantly updating the web site and all CDs are checked weekly. If an item you ordered is out of stock, it will be back-ordered automatically. For international orders, we will e-mail you of the missing items to confirm the balance of your order.

How do I track my order?

I've forgotten my password, what do I do?

Don't worry, just click this link and enter your e-mail address at the log-in screen and we will e-mail your password to you.

I need to return my order, what are the terms?

Within 15 days of receipt of your order, you may return any unopened music and any other item in its original condition, with its original packaging and accessories for a full refund or credit. If the product is faulty, we shall replace it without charge.

Shipping charges can only be refunded if the return is due to our error. All returns must be accompanied by the packing slip. After a return has been received, it will take 1-2 weeks to process. If using a credit card, refunds will be credited to your account.
