Fork Series is something of a new direction for the Blue Moon catalogue. This new label was born with the intention of doing the same for rock and electronic music, as Fresh Sound New Talent does for jazz: provide a platform for new and interesting bands. It's a simple as that. The first releases have all gone brilliantly: Tuesday Afternoon (001) have gone on to play in festivals across Spain and are looking to Europe for tours next year. They have played with Jay Farrar (ex-Uncle Tupelo), Interpol and many others. After their debut album on Fork Series in 2002, Miztura (002) have recorded an EP with the Basque label Metak and are currently promoting it live. Gros (003) too are doing well. They played the prestigious Electonkaldia festival in San Sebsatian, alongside Super Collider and Wagon Cookin and then we were awarded First Prize in the Villa de Bilbao competition for European bands as the Best Electronic Artists of 2003. They are touring soon with Andreas Tiliander, Contemporary Punk Unit (iDEAL Recordings, Sweden) and playing several dates around Spain. Gros released their second full-length on Fork Series in October 2004. The album, "Radio Islas" is a step forward in terms of programming and new sounds but with the trademark Gros melodies. Lemko Hall (004) have been touring with bands like Stars of the Lid (Kranky), Black Heart Procession (Touch & Go) and have played with The Strokes and The Hives in festivals. They are currently putting the final touches to their third album in Malmö, Sweden. Danger Adventure (005) are from Chciago, USA. They make a great mix of Os Mutantes, Stereolab and the Beach Boys. They have toured the US extensively and have completed a successful tour of Spain. "Independent Sweden" (006) is a compilation of the best new acts from the north, just as "Independent Chicago" (007) is a round-up of the best new acts from America's MidWest. He Can Jog's "New Ground Has Not Broken, Soil Last Week And Dirt Today" (008) is the latest addition to the roster. the album was recorded in Wisconsin, USA, and is an exploration of new electronic sounds and a certain organicness.
